I started my Martial Arts Journey back in 1989 age just 15yrs, studying Thai Boxing under the watchful eye of Shihan Clarry who at that time was running a local club. I trained under Shihan Clarry for a number of years until he had to close the club due to his overseas training in Japan. I carried on my training in kickboxing up until 1998. After a short break away from training I discovered that Shihan Clarry had opened a Dojo and was teaching Yoseikan Karate to the local's, in 1999 I started training and I was hooked on the Yoseikan system from day one due to the variety of techniques which are practiced within the Art. I slowly moved up through the kyu grades and in 2007 was rewarded with a promotion to 3rd Kyu brown belt at which time I won the title of YKA full contact champion 2007. In 2009 I achieved my 1st Dan black Belt under Shihan Clarry following a 5 hour Dan Grade examination, I like to believe its not the colour of your belt that matters but your dedication to the Yoseikan Style.
