Rob Luck
3rd Dan

I began my Martial Arts experience when I was 8ys old learning & training the art of Judo at my local school & studied for many years until I was forced to give up through injury. In my time practicing Judo I was lucky enough to go to a seminar hosted by Master Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki from Japan & practiced grappling & groundwork techniques with him. After a few years away from Judo, I searched for a new style of Martial Arts. A friend of mine ran his own Martial Arts Club & first introduced me to Karate. After a few years due to a lack of students his class was forced to close & I again began my search for another Martial Arts club. I studied Wing Chun for some time but found this did not suit me & kept my search going until I found my current club:- Yoseikan Karate Association Since joining the Association I have trained on a regular basis dedicating my spare time to training & working my way through the ranks to Dan Grade level. I have been teaching Yoseikan Karate for many years now & have worked alongside Shihan Clarry throughout my time at the Head Dojo. As the Senior Instructor I help in the running of classes & cover for Shihan in his absence continuing to promote the name & the art of Yoseikan Karate. I now run our classes held at Elmwood School helping promote Yoseikan to new students & current members who wish to further their training with additional classes. I still train on a regular basis myself under the guidance of Shihan Clarry to help me gain as much knowledge & skill as possible to become a true Martial Artist in the ways of Yoseikan keeping it as pure as Master Minoru Mochizuki Intended. I currently have 3rd Dan status in Yoseikan Karate & also hold 1st Dan Certification in Bojitsu (Art of the Bo Staff). I am always looking to improve my skills & teaching ability under the guidance of Shihan & one day I wish to further my studies as he did by studying my art in Japan. In passing on my knowledge I hope to keep the future of our style in it’s original Budo form & not for sport, keeping my knowledge & that of future students as pure as our style was when it was founded by Master Minoru Mochizuki.
